Happy Valentine’s Day!

I really hope you can appreciate the blood sweat and tears that went into finishing this by the 14th. Painting the same thing 16 times is.. fatiguing. But I’m pretty happy with the result, so I guess it was worth it. It was very experimental mixing my portrait painting with animation. I may do more in the future but if so they will definitely have less frames cause damn. Also this is actually a bit bigger, you can see the full size here (x).

Also you can see a step by step here (x).

The new Doctor’s ‘costume’ has been revealed.

Commenting on his costume, Peter Capaldi said: “He’s woven the future from the cloth of the past. Simple, stark, and back to basics. No frills, no scarf, no messing, just 100 percent Rebel Time Lord.”  While lead writer and executive producer Steven Moffat added: “New Doctor, new era, and of course new clothes. Monsters of the universe, the vacation is over - Capaldi is suited and booted and coming to get you!”

I got my bunch of keys out, I got my mum’s front door key and scraped that up the strings. We did that several times on the bass strings on an old Sunday school piano that had been taken apart.
“So we took those and speeded them up, slowed them down and cut several of them together and started to add feedback to get that echoey sort of thing.

5 things that you probably didn’t know about Clara Oswald

  • Clara: The character was named after Elisabeth Clara Heath-Sladen, who was most famous for her role as Sarah Jane Smith in both the original Doctor Who series and the reboot. Sladen passed away due to cancer on the 19th of April, 2011. Clara Oswald was a tribute to the actress that revolutionised the role of the companion of Doctor Who.
  • Oswald: The family name of this character originates from the assassination of JFK by Lee Harvey Oswald, which took place just a day before the very first episode of Doctor Who premiered. Clara’s first episode, Asylum of the Daleks, featured a minor character that found former companion Amy Pond and the Doctor on the outer shell of the asylum. The name of this character was Harvey, which also ties back to the assassination.
  • Souffle:In the French language, souffle translates into blow. In the Name of the Doctor, Clara Oswald states: “I blew into this world on a leaf.” This may tie to why Clara Oswald baked soufflés in all her lives that are known to the audience.
  • Death and Birth Dates: Victorian Clara Oswin Oswald was born on November 23, 1866, and she died on December 24, 1892. Clara Oswin Oswald shares the same date as the birth of Doctor Who, and she died at the age of 26, which was how old Doctor Who was before it was cancelled.
  • March 5th, 2005: Clara Oswals’s mother, Ellie Oswald passed away on this date. This very date is the same day that the first episode of the reboot premiered. (Rose). London was attacked by aliens, and it could be suggested that Ellie Oswald died at the hands of one of those aliens.
